Cowichan Music

Rykie Avenant has worked as music teacher and collaborative pianist in the Cowichan Valley for the past 23 years.

She is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, where she earned both a BMus (Ed) degree and a Licentiate in Piano Performance.

She is passionate about facilitating young musicians in developing their skills as collaborative performers, and helping them discover the joy of working with their peers in an ensemble setting.

Rykie is not currently taking new piano students, but welcomes instrumentalists and singers in need of a collaborative pianist. She lives in Shawnigan Lake.
